I love birthdays! I believe everyone should have at least one birthday party that they always remember. For my adult son, he still talks about his super hero party when he turned 5! Mine is my surprise princess party my husband threw for my 26th birthday! As a foster parent, it breaks my heart when I hear of foster children that have never had the most basic of birthday parties. That is where Your Birthday Wish was planted as a dream and has now grown into a reality. Every person should be celebrated on their day- but especially children that are experiencing trauma many will never know. I truly believe that something that seems simple can change the image of self-worth for a child, forever.
